James 1:17 says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
James says that every good gift and every perfect gift comes from God The Father. He is the giver of all good things. His best gift is that of salvation which we can only receive through Jesus Christ.
The Son
The Son is the second person of the Trinity, and He is God incarnate. Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human. He is the visible expression of God’s love for us. In John 1:1, we read, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” This refers to Jesus Christ, who is the Word made flesh.
Jesus Christ is our Savior, and He is the only way to the Father. John 14:6 tells us, “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Through faith in Jesus Christ, we can have forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
While many mega churches today teach that there are many paths to the same God, Biblically this is incorrect. This belief brings a false sense of living eternally with God. Jesus is the only path to heaven and eternal life. Others believe that this truth can be changed to please socieity, but this is not the case. Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.” There is no changing the Bible to validate our lifestyle choices.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, and He is the Comforter and counselor. He dwells in us as believers and empowers us to live a life of holiness. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, guides us into truth, and transforms us into the image of Christ. His work in us allows our efforts of confirming God’s Word to become a reality in our daily living.
Romans 8:11 says, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” The Holy Spirit is the One who gives us the power to live the Christian life and to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others.
