Pray With Others To Increase Your Faith

The Biblical Secret For Answered Prayer Introduction
The Biblical secret for answered prayer I’m referring to is the prayer of agreement from Matthew 18:19-20. It’s not really a secret. God didn’t hide it in the Bible, but it’s hidden to many Christians. This is especially an important prayer for new Christians, but it’s not always taught in our churches.
This short study teaches how to use this specific prayer correctly. If used improperly it can be detrimental to answered prayer. Learn how to pray with others for collective faith ( your faith combined with others for answered prayer). Friends, church members, husband and wifes, families and any group of people can and should use this prayer when they share the same prayer need or goal.
Understand The Prayer Of Agreement
If you have little faith but you need answered prayer, God has provided a means of igniting your faith by joining with others. You only need to look at Matthew 18:19-20 to learn this explosive principle for answered prayer. However, praying with others in agreement creates special conditions.
According to Jesus we’re guaranteed answered prayer when we follow His clear instruction for this form of prayer known as the Prayer of Agreement found in Matthew 18:19-20. This particular prayer takes us beyond our own level of faith to obtain anything according to God’s will (if it’s in the Bible as a promise or blessing). Examples are the need for employment, healing or safety during a bad weather storm while driving.
These are important needs that must be fulfilled quickly! So rather than praying on your own during such times, you can join with others in prayer for greater faith and power according to what Jesus said. By now this prayer sounds familiar. We prayer with others all the time. But we don’t always know how to use it correctly for success.
Collaborated faith efforts will greatly increase faith so that prayer results can be realized. Sometimes this prayer brings immediate results. To experience success, let’s look at how Jesus explained it.
Agree In Prayer For Powerful Results
In Matthew 18:19-20, Jesus said:
“19 Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
Complete Agreement!
The key word for the prayer of agreement found in verse 19 is “agree.” This study teaches the significance of how this word can impact the prayer of agreement for the positive or negative of what you want or need.
Don’t be in a hurry with prayer of agreement. Take time when praying with others to choose those persons who have a like desire as you do to pray correctly and who also want the best for you. Make sure that you receive the benefit of this prayer. If you’re praying for a collective desire, it’s still important to remain in agreement.
Share your need in joined prayer with family, friends and church members who you know respect God’s Word. They should care about you and desire that you receive exactly what you’ve asked God for in prayer. This means they agree with your need. If they don’t understand your need, discuss it with them. They might enlighten you about what you want. As an example, you may be asking for something God doesn’t promise or that you’re not ready to receive. You’ll need some judgement here, but you can ask God to guide you.
Don’t Pray With People You Can’t Trust
We can pray with others who don’t have our best interest at heart. If you desire to put forth greater, heart-felt faith for what you desire with others, you need people who desire to see God’s Word manifested in your life.
Praying with a family member, for instance, who may not respect you or believe in prayer will not give you the added faith toward what you want or encouragement. In Matthew 18:18 Jesus said: “Verily I say unto you, what things soever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and what things soever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
When we pray, we’re loosing what we want or binding what we don’t want. I cover this information and more about prayer and receiving from God in Greatness By God’s Design if you need more information on the subject.
Jesus works on our behalf on earth and in heaven. Heaven is the landing place for our prayers because this is where God is with Christ seated next to Him. Earth is where we are and where we receive what we need.
The Steps of The Prayer Of Agreement According to Jesus:
- two or more people must gather together in agreement about what they ask for in prayer (found in the Bible)
- meeting together in the name of Jesus will insure that He is right there in the midst of the prayer
- use the prayer of faith and address your prayer to God the Father, and ask for what you want in Jesus’ Name
- Be prepared by faith to receive
See your faith as greater because of your conjoined faith with others. Acknowledge Jesus Christ as your mediator presenting your prayers to God and immediately answering them.
Prayer Of Agreement Study In Review
Before you say your prayer with one or more persons in agreement to your prayer request, you must consider the following factors:
- Be clear about what you want. You can’t ask for one thing, but really want another. This will create doubt.
- Be specific. If you want more money, for example, you need to know how much money you want and why you want it.
- Clearly state your request to those praying with you to insure that they are praying in harmony with what you want.
- Choose the person or persons carefully who you’ll be praying with. Make sure they understand this prayer and the principles of the Prayer of Faith.
- Choose people who have your best interest at heart. You can’t pray with someone just because they’re a Christian and you need someone to pray with you. You would do better to pray alone. Prayer partners must practice the love of God.
- God knows the truth when we go before Him. Be honest about your situation when you go before Him in prayer.
Always keep in mind that everyone in your prayer circle must be in one ACCORD with you in prayer. This is why it’s called the Prayer of Agreement. If you take these tips seriously, you’ll experience accelerated prayer results.
Once you’ve prayed, thank and praise God for answering you as often as possible until you receive your request. Then, continue to be thankful for all God has done for you now and forever.
Conclusion Notes:
Special Notice: As I close this study, I would like to present two more important factors for answered prayer. Before you pray, ask forgiveness of your sins if you haven’t done this. Repent and trust that God has forgiven you immediately. It will keep your heart at peace when entering into prayer.
Mark 11:26 says to forgive all before you pray or you won’t receive answered prayer. Unforgiveness forms a barrier against receiving from God because the soul holds onto the negative emotions that bring doubt, fear and trust in God. Forgive all, including yourself.
What To Do Next: Share your prayer request within my community. Choose to keep it private with me (Margaret Lukasik) or share it with others. See video below to post your prayer or IM me. State your prayer clearly as this lesson describes and then believe with me in agreement that you have received. Make sure others pray about you with the same understanding. Thank and praise God daily to build your faith! Go here to share your request.
